Stoneyhill Playgroup have a clear directive from the Local Authority, the Care Inspectorate and The Scottish Executive to comply with guideliness, policies and procedures related to the delivery of its services. The Playgroup will try to maintain a complete record of relevant policies and procedures on the following web page to assist in complying with these guidelines.

Playgroup Staffing and Training

The committment of the playgroup team extends far beyond the running of the daily sessions and with the ever increasing list of regulations, government legislation and guidlines the team are required to complete regular training and workshops associated with food hygiene, first aid, child protection and infection control through the East Lothian Partnership and in compliance with the Scottish Social Services Council

The team all have Disclosure Scotland/PVG Registration to comply with the criteria for child protection as set by the Local Authority and the National guidelines.

The Playgroup is reviewed annually by the Care Inspectorate who regulate all social care, social work and child protection services throughout Scotland. Copies of the playgroups reports can be viewed on line at the Inspectorate web site


Sharon Kerr - Training Activity Log. (manager)

Sharon Kerr, the Playgroup Manager has an SPA and SVQIII in Childcare Education and a PDA in childhood practice and has recently completed her BA in Childhood Practice at Edinburgh University.

Gayle Durham - Training Activity Log. (Practitioner Level)

Gayle is registerd at Practitioner level with the SSSC and has comleted a level 6 qualification in Childcare support.

Elliot Harrold - Training Activity Log. (Practitioner Level)

Elliot is registerd at Practitioner level with the SSSC and will be working towards a level 7 qualification Childcare, Elliot has vast experience working with children and is a registered child minder.

Sharon McDougal - Training Activity Log. (Practitioner Level)

Sharon McDougal is registerd at Practitioner level with the SSSC and has completed her HNC in Child Care at Edinburgh College.
